Head of Georgia`s Investment Agency Keti Bochorishvili presented the results of the international exhibition of Hong-Kong to the president via internet today. Mikheil Saakashvili, along with Agriculture Minister Zaza Gorozia listened to her report in Kvareli district of Kakheti Region in Eastern Georgia.
Zaza Gorozia also reported the president about the export of the Georgian wine. The minister said, according to the data of the latest 10 months, over 15 million bottles of wine have been exported from Georgia.
In Kvareli, Saakashvili also made a comment on Russia`s possible access to the World Trade Organization.
“The Georgian side rejected 10 different offers, although finally, in result of intensive talks with Switzerland, a joint proposal was worked out, according to which Switzerland hires international certified monitors, which are accountable to the Swiss side.
“We have certain coordinates – Psou and Zemo Zarmagi, Roki Tunnel. International monitoring of all cargo and trade will be carried out within these coordinates. First time after 1992 we have achieved that we will permanently receive information from international monitors about all the freights that are transported to the sovereign territory of Georgia.
“I think this is our diplomatic victory. But our final diplomatic victory will come when we have here not only international monitors but Georgian customs service and we will achieve this. Of course we could not resolve the territory issues, as we have occupation here and the international society recognizes it. Although the principle that the occupant side has also agreed to the international control of the borders, was very significant for our legal situation and security”, Saakashvili said.
